The Romantic era began in the early 1800s. During this era, artists focused on the emotion within their subjects rather than just what they saw in the surface. Some of the art was pretty dark and twisted like Goya's pieces.

The art era of Romaticism was from 1800-1850. It was in France, England, and America. The five I's are imagination, intuition, idealism, inspiration, and individualism. To create a specific style the artists used quick brush strokes and strong light-and-shade contrasts.

Romanticism was from 1800 to 1850 and originated in Europe. Romanticism's purpose is not to amaze you by grandeur or grace, but to rise your emotions and guide you to an aesthetic experience.
