The message here is when the blind leads the blind you aren't going to get where you want to go. Back then the point was if you don't fallow the right people or the holy man you won't find the way to heaven.

Tthe parable of the blind leading the blind. You cant play follow the leader if the leader doesn't know where he's going. Paintings like these were used to highlight human vice at the time.

Maybe this had something to do with how Protestants felt about the Catholic Church at the time, saying that the priests weren't any better in the eyes of god than the common people.

I think the meaning of this painting is that if you follow someone who really is clueless themselves , you will get nowhere . It's a great painting with a great meaning .

In the painting, there are six blind men and the leader (blind) falls into a hole. The followers do not know exactly what is going to happen, but they are eventually going to find out on their own. The painting is based upon a saying of Jesus from the Gospels can the blind lead the blind?

I think the meaning of this painting is that you should follow someone who is determined and knows where they're going and how to lead. Make plans and figure out things ahead of time.

The message here is the blind leads the blind. This painting really shows the emotion of the people well. The painting is based upon a saying from Jesus. It is about six men and the leader falls in a whole.

I think the saying "The blind leading the blind" is a pretty self explanatory statement. Obviously if someone isnt good at something then you shouldn't go to that person to learn how to do it. I think this statement is saying that you shouldn't follow someone who is just as clueless or "blind" at something as you are.

The message behind the blind leading the blind, is that noone knows where or what they are doing, but everyone just follows the person who has no clue what there doing. But rather then following the blind, you need a leader. Someone who takes authority and knows exactly what he or she is doing.

The blind leading the blind means that someone who needs help to get where they want to go isn't going to get there because the person helping them is just as lost as they are.

This painting is based off a proverb from Luke 6:39 “Can the blind lead the blind? Will they not both fall into a pit” This message just like the painting states that with out a leader of knowledge you are going to travel along the path of uncertainty just like a blind man.

The meaning of this painting I believe is that without someone who is level headed and can see the "big picture", people will continue to simply make things worse, like the blind. These people need someone who can "see" in order to lead them.

The phrase, "the blind leading the blind" is a metaphor used by Jesus in Matthew 15:14 where he says, "Leave them! They are blind guides. If someone who is blind leads another who is blind, both will fall into a pit." In this painting Bruegel is saying that the man following has no more knowledge than the person leading hints "the blind leading the blind".

There are six blind men going forward one after the other. A blind guide goes first and falls in a hole with his staff. The next blind man trips over the first one. The third connected with the second with a staff follow his predecessors. The fifth and the sixth don't yet know what is happening but will fall into the hole at the end.The painting is based upon a saying of Jesus that appears in the Gospels: "Can the blind lead the blind? Will they not both fall into the ditch?". Bruegel gives visual expression to Christ's words in this painting.

The meaning of this painting is to show that people who lead the way need to be able to "see" where they are going and what's ahead. Failure to do so will lead them nowhere, or maybe even into a hole in the ground.

I think this painting shows how you need different perspectives from different people in order to be able to, in this case, know where you are going. This painting shows the troubles of the blind leading the blind.

This painting represents the blind leading the blind. The message behind it is when you follow the wrong group of people/person, you will end up going no where. In the painting it shows the leader falling into a hole, and the next person following him tripping into the hole as well. The next few people will experience the same effect.

makeup - this shows that often times people in this era were not very educated and there wasnt anyone to really teach others or lead

The message behind this painting is that sometimes people who have no idea what they're doing will still lead people anyway. Their followers believe in them even though they are just as"blind" as they are.
