What do you know about Salvador Dali and Surrealism? What do you think this painting represents? Do you think your dreams (subconscious mind) have meaning? Why or why not?

Dali had "critical paranoia." At night, he put a canvas beside his bed, so as soon as he woke up, he could paint what he saw in hi dreams.

I know that Dali was insane and he would do crazy things to his body to make himself go into a hallucinatory state. I think that this painting represents that time and his memories are starting to slip away from him. I do think your dreams have meaning, but Dali takes it to the extreme since he was extremely insane.

Dali was known to be kind of crazy, he would make himself have hallucinations. I think the painting shows that time can slip away but his memory of his childhood still remains.

Dali was known as crazy by most. He had critical paranoia. He would set a canvas by his bed at night and paint his crazy dreams when he woke up.

Dali was a very crazy man. He always carried a piece of driftwood at all times, to ward off evil spirits. He was terrified of insects, crossing streets,

I really don't like this painting but I do appreciate it. I think Dali tried to be more crazy than he actually was & he forced himself to hallucinate.

I know he was insane and probably did drugs. He liked to paint his dreams and get in tact with his subconscious mind. I think your subconscious mind does have meaning.

We learned in class that Dali was a Spanish artist who was a little strange. He used to do things such as staying up for hours at a time in order to create art in a sort if hallucinative state. I think this painting has something to do with the unconscious mind. However, I don't think our dreams have anything to do with our unconscious.

I know that Dali was a Surrealist painter because he avoided sensible thought yet painted in a very realistic manner. He would wake up in the middle of the night and record the dreams he just had since his dreams were the subjects of his paintings. I think this painting represents the illusion of time in that time can seem to slip away from us as we continue on with our lives. I do think that dreams have meaning because the subconscious mind can reflect the thoughts of the conscious mind.

The aim or Surrealist painters was to "resolve the previously contradictory conditions of dream and reality." Dali was an expert at creating the conditions of dream and reality and creating a unique work of art. In this work of art, the persistence of memory, emphasizes the theory of hardness and softness with time. These watches are melting because they are soft and it puts the viewer in a dreamlike state. I personally think Dali is a little crazy, but his art is truly unique and creative.

Make up blog: I know Dali was crazy and was known for his insane approaches to his creative side. He would stay up for days until he would hallucinate and then paint those hallucinations. This painting seems to say that time is flimsy and constantly getting away. I do believe that dreams mean something. I think they represent what's going on in our subconscious.

Dali was an eccentric man who forced himself to hallucinate together into a certain state of mind. The painting represents time slipping away.

I think the surrealism is very interesting. There is a meaning that you have to search for in a piece of art. I think that some of your dreams have meanings behind them but not all of them.

Dali is way beyond crazy like the things he did to himself so that he could paint were just totally unreal. I like this painting even though I have no clue he was trying to do. This is the painting I used to do my mosaic earlier in the year.
