This building is a good representation of neoclassical style because it is reminiscent of classical Greece and Rome. The columns and the dome show this really well. This style is set apart from classical times because they used brick instead of concrete or marble, because bricks were more readily available in America during this time.

The architecture resembles classical greek and roman architecture. The rectangular shapes and columns are greek while the dome is roman. The neoclassical period had a comeback to classical greece and rome ideas.

Thomas Jefferson used a similar portico, columns, and dome. He included relief sculptures of Roman gods in the pediment. He used an asymmetric plan with complex features.

Thomas Jefferson's monticello reflect many neoclassical ideals. You can see these by the columns and domes it contains. Neoclassical resembled the classical Greek and Roman architecture. Though most buildings contained marble, the monticello is mafe up of brick to amricanize it more.

By the columns you can see The neoclassical details. The dome on the top of the building also resembles it. The bricks are also a sign because during the past times the ony things they used to create buildings

The most obvious neoclassical characteristic is the return of the large white columns. This common feature in Classical Greek and Roman architecture reappears but now is combined with new architectural attributes.

Classical characteristics are revived in this building with the Greek columns and the Romanesque dome. Neo-classical ideas are also portrayed as it brings back the democratic elements of Greece and the architecture is not as exaggerated as in the Baroque period.

Thomas Jefferson's home Monticello is a great representation of neoclassical style. Both the columns and the dome show the Greek and Roman classical style of architecture. However, it is the brick used in the building that really sets it apart from the classical style.

Thomas Jefferson's Monticello shows great aspects of the Neoclassical period. You can see through the structure of the columns that Greece was a big influence and also the Roman dome. It was the medium of brick that really set this building apart from ideas before where buildings were made of stone or concrete.
