Baroque art was very extravagant and over-exaggerated. It showed tons of emotion, but Neo-Classical seems to be more simplistic. It shows a greater sense of realism with less exaggeration. It's breaking from the strong ideas of religion and elegance and portraying life as it is.

The Neoclassical period was more about the basics not as extravagant as the baroque style. Neoclassical focus more on the classics like roman and Greece ideas. Neoclassic era was more free artist were able to paint what they choose not what they were told. The neoclassical painter had first hand knowledge of antique art with moral and imposed universal ethics.

Neoclassical artwork was definetely more sefular. Art was now moew about expressing emotions than pleasing the church. It is more simplistic, yet more realistic in lots of cases.

Neoclassical art is much more real than Baroque art was. Baroque art was more for looking good infront of everyone else, while neoclassical art is more of what is really going on in the world.

Neoclassical artwork & style was very realistic & dedicated to describing the every day lives of people. Baroque was more of a time period dedicated to looking good & showing off wealth. I think these time periods are complete opposites
